Astros game
We had free tickets courtesy of Champoins (thanks Sarah! ) and decided to have one on one time with Ania. We've been wanting to and thought this was the perfect time. I was nervous with the potty situation which worked out great!
We dropped Cameron off at my parents and headed to the game. Ania loved it!! Her face of seeing the field and watching all the action was priceless. She danced to some music and was looking for "that guy" or the mascot. She had a hotdog and 2 ice creams. Yikes!
We had a blast!
Potty training
So I really got serious about potty training last week where Ania wore underwear all last weekend and changed her from her pull-up to underwear after school. She did pretty well! Still a work in progress but I’m overcoming my fear of taking her out in public without on because we went to the store…haha. Now, I need to speak with her teachers at school on her progress. They’ve told me before she goes when they take the kids, Ania just needs to tell them when she needs to potty. We’re working on that. Ania doesn’t really tell us, she’ll disappear and I’ll find her sitting on the potty.
The one thing I’m enjoying is that we haven’t had to change a 2 almost 3yr old’s poopy diaper because Ania’s been going in the potty. Love that!
Sensitive
Ania is a very stone faced little girl to the outside. At home, she’s very loveable, caring, talkative, sings and runs around. One thing I noticed this weekend is that she’s VERY sensitive. She doesn’t like to be told anything ‘bad’ or else she’ll sulk and/or cry. We ran out of yogurt and told her that she can’t have that today and what happens, waterworks. Then I have to tell her not to jump while she’s eating and waterworks. She just doesn’t like it.
Well, she has to get used to it because this is not the first or last time we’ll be telling her something she doesn’t want to hear.

Cameron has started to get in Ania’s personal space because she’s started to crawl a lot. Ania has been good about telling Cameron ‘No, she can’t do that’ and scooting her away from those items (e.g. outlets, fireplace, etc.). Ania has been our little patrol on the whereabouts of Cameron. Ania will scream “Mommy!! Cameron not supposed to be here” I’ll run and see and either pick her up and redirect her, or let Ania know, it’s okay if she explores the area.
There’s also the situation where I give Cameron something to play with and Ania runs over and takes it from her. Then I have to tell Ania, that she has to share.
Then there’s yesterday, when Ania wanted Cameron to lay down and pretend to sleep. Cameron wanted no such thing because she was crawling everywhere. We tell Ania that Cameron will play later because she’s exploring. Ania continues to yell “baby, lay down and pretend sleep.” Ania gets her wand she got from Disneyworld and starts waving it around, then hitting in on a pillow. Tom and I start getting nervous and tell Ania to stop hitting her wand on the pillow so hard and as we’re telling her that, Cameron strolls over at the same pillow. WHACK!!! At that very moment, Ania whacked Cameron on the head and waterworks. I grabbed Cameron and had to tell Ania why I told her to stop with her wand.
The very first physical fight with these girls. Tom and I were SHOCKED. But man, does Ania have an arm!
