Two Years
Tom and I celebrated our two year anniversary the other week. We dated for about 8 months before getting married and now our family is growing within 3 years. We took the fast forward approach but high risk, high reward :)
We went to a nice dinner at Fogo de chao and went home to watch the Big Bang theory since Ania was at my parents. We're living it up these days!!
I'm horrible at giving gifts but Tom is always on top of it. He got us tickets to watch the book of moron. Meanwhile, I got him a package of white t-shirts. Yeah he's so lucky!! Lol
Ladies weekend
Her cousin Polina watched over her the whole time and sees Ania as her live doll. Lol and in typical boy fashion, Christopher acknowledged her but didnt go out of his way. Lol.
It was definitely nice to have one on one time with her because even when we got home, all she wanted was mommy. Well until Monday rolled around.
This is how close Polina and Ania were the whole weekend

Jekyll and Hyde
There are two personalities to Ania. One is a sweet, quiet girl who laughs and talks up a storm. The other, a little girl who thinks the world is ending and throws herself on he ground and cries.
Meet the other. She's been having major tantrums lately and this is one of those days we came home from school , didn't get her way so he cried for about 20 minutes. It may be cruel but it's better than me yelling at her. So I took a photo and walked away.

Finishing tasks
On Anias report card at the end or year was that she needed a little work on finishing tasks. The other night was the first time she finished her alphabet puzzle. So proud.

Ania's world
Ania is 20 months old and I say she's going through a phase. She loves saying the word no, she's been refusing to take baths, to get dressed, put on a diaper and anytime she gets is either screaming and crying or running to her dad to be carried.

Ania trying on shoes and about to go out somewhere
Ania walking around the house with her swim float
I'm wondering if this is what I have to look forward to during teenage years times two, since there will be Ania and her sister.
This evening was major teamwork. Tom held Ania while I gave her a bath. That was the fastest bath ever. Not to mention she had to sit on my lap tonight to eat dinner because she's refusing to eat in her high chair. Meanwhile, Ania sat on her dads lap while I put lotion on her and tried finding toys to amuse her while we put her diaper on. The winner? A yellow stress reliever key chain. She refused clothes and didnt want to get up so we left her in her room. She didnt cry. Ania just laid there playing with the keychain while Tom and I were in the living room. I checked on her and asked if she wanted to join us and her response, "no". So we let her be. We did that about every 3 mins. I guess she just wanted some "me" time.
Finally, she joined us in the living room to watch her show and have milk ending the night with a short story and bedtime.
Hopefully, this is a phase and not a glimpse of the terrible twos or teenage years. We're learning quickly it's about picking battles with a 20 month old. If Ania wants to wear a swim float around the house. Ok. Other times she's a great kid but definitely testing her mom and dad.

Allergies
I've been pretty lucky so far with Ania and food. She eats pretty much everything with no reaction. Well, until now and the worst thing is we're playing the guessing game of what it could be. Also, she was with my parents over the weekend so I've been grilling them what they fed her.

Rash on her legs and its all over her body...
Last night she started having rashes which I thought was from a pool because she swims a lot at school. This morning it was worse so taking turns, Tom called in and took her to the doctor. The diagnosis, an allergic reaction to food. We're thinking it could be cumin or paprika or both because through investigation Ania hasn't eaten any out of the ordinary food except those spices. We looked up the allergy reaction and sorta lines up with what were seeing. Thankfully no fever but since we've been giving her Benedryl, she's been really drowsy. I don't know how parents give this to their kids on a plane. I'm not there yet but I just don't like how she's so sedative. I want my running around talkative Ania back! Soon.
