Leap Year

So today is leap year and great things happened today...

1) after being sick since Saturday, I attempted to go into work today. My boss took one look at me and asked me to go back home and get more rest. I did such. I'd never to sent home from work to go rest. Thankfully I have a great and understanding boss!

2) baby girl rolled over for the first time!!! She did it so effortlessly. I with I recorded it. Next time she does it now we have to watch her closely now and start child proofing the apartment.

3) I ordered her spoons and feeding bibs. Yes, she's 4 months old and maybe starting to eat rice cereal. She has her doc appointment this Saturday

Ugh

I've been stuck in a room for the past 3 days. Sick as a dog!! I haven't been sick like this in years!! So I had to stay clear from my baby and gramza play mommy and daddy since Saturday.

I started getting sick in Syracuse on saturday. By Sunday, I drugged myself just enough to make it back home in my own bed. I've never taken any sick days and this was the first time ever. 2 days I literally could not make it into work even if I tried. I've also only been able to see baby girl through pictures that gramza sends me. Theres no way I'm getting near her!! Hopefully it's running its course because I can now sit up and eat a piece of toast.

This feeling is just ugh!!! So no photos on this blog...

Race against time

I worked late again tonight and I feel guilty that I don't see my baby too long before she goes to bed. I want her to know that mommy loves her very much and her smile is contagious! We have a daily routine all three of us talking about how our day went

After baby goes to bed its a rush to take a shower, clean the dishes and bottles, make bottles for tomorrow, make our lunches, iron our clothes for the morning and time for bed...repeat. Oh how time escapes you when you have a baby. Now if I can remember to bring a photo of baby girl so I can see her all the time.

Just a few things...

- baby girl is already 15 weeks, that means a photo shoot is on the horizon
- she smiles when I sing the abc's and in the jungle in a high pitch voice
- she does not like to be put in her crib until she's literally passed out
- she alternates between mommy and daddy putting her to bed...last night it was daddy, tonight it was mommy
- I've been working late this week which makes me sad coming home after 6:30 sometimes
-she's had her first plane ride
- she's been sleeping through the night. Knock on wood
- she hated when I drain her nose and cries bloody murder

Well I'm sitting in bed and just wanted to get a few thoughts. I thought it would be easy to juggle work/mommy life...WRONG!!! It's so hard... I wish I had a 9-5 job but I honestly don't think that exists. So its like a double whammy of sacrifices...seeing my baby grow so fast without really seeing her grow and trying to maintain a career to provide for her. It's a tough gig but I have to believe its better for all of our futures. It's a tough spot but that's the choice I made and it's to figure out how to balance the two. Of course my priority is this baby girl but in my head is I have to keep my job. So Aliza, welcome back to work!! And it seems ever since I went back the weekends are literally a blink of the eye. They go by so fast.

I'm crying a river and I'm paddling my canoe back to shore. No idea what I just said there.

An awesome note: baby girl is an awesome traveler now to start thinking of the next destination...

One week down

So my first full week of work has ended and boy was I exhausted on Friday. But to start off my day I found these two ladies striking a pose

Hard

This marks my first week of working and let me tell you it's been a little tough. I'm waiting for the train to work...

Ania is at home with Gramza because she has the sniffles. Thank goodness it's not a fever but were just keeping her at home this week. And I'm goog to work. My mom is coming tonight so she'll watch her Thursday and Friday.

I'll tell you one thing...work is work and once I'm done I pick the munchkin ! But one thing is for sure is that it's definitely tiring. I work in NY once a week and Gramza has to pick the munchkin up and there goes schedule planning...
