Ania's Vocabulary

Ania is starting to put phrases together and everyday it’s like she’s learning a new word.  Some to add on her vocabulary: tea, yes, awesome, comb, milk, thank you, welcome, Elmo and coffee.  I know how coffee became apart of her vocabulary.  Well early on, she slept through the night.  Now?  She wakes up like clock work at 11pm and 2am.  At 11pm she’ll go right back to sleep.  At 2am she’ll want to play.  Everyone says that she knows that there’s a baby coming.  Who knows…but it’s become a morning routine for Tom and I to go to dunkin donuts to get coffee so when we follow each other she points and says coffee.  Tom briefly explains is it’s because of her morning partying.

Another word: tea.  She has evening tea with her friend betsy, daddy and mommy.  She’ll pour all of us a cup and discuss our tea.  Well mostly, she’s blowing in our cups and says ‘hot’.  She’s such a great host!  But that’s where that comes from.

Elmo.  I never put Elmo on the TV for her and wondered where she figured him out.  One answer. School.  They watch a 30 min tv show everyday and the time has changed from 4:30 - 5:00.  Well, yesterday, Tom arrived to pick Ania up at 4:30 and he saw her class walk out (hands behind the back) walking to another room.  Tom and Ania made eye contact and she started to bawl.   Her teacher told him that it was tv show time.  So Tom left her to watch and came back at 5.  When she walked out of the room, Ania kept saying to Tom ‘Elmo.  Elmo.  Elmo’.  She’s definitely a fan.

Words that end with “th”.  Well in Ania terms, “th” = “f”.  For instance, when it’s time for bath, Ania says, “Baf”.  Ania points to her mouth, and says,”Mouf”.  And so on…

  1. Rachel is obsessed with Elmo too. No clue how she discovered it. At first we thought it was from Ryan's diapers. I guess school?

And funny about the coffee. I let Rachel learn the hard way not to drink mommy's drink. She tasted the coffee and spit it out. So now my coffee is safe to not be touched by her! And with a glass of wine I told her it is coffee too. Hey, gotta protect mommy's beverages! LOL
